Nicole Scherzinger
With her sultry smoky eye makeup, gorgeous high cheekbones and beautifully defined full lips, Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger was a dance floor standout from the first day of this season’s Dancing With the Stars. Her sexy smoldering look was a good match for the flirty crowd-pleasing tango she danced with partner Derek Hough to win the mirrorball trophy this week. Nicole’s weekly appearances on the tenth season of the popular dance show have women across the country clamoring to re-create her alluring smoky eye makeup. Far from the overdone shadowing of some smoky eye fans, Nicole’s eye makeup highlights and outlines her eyes, making it impossible to take your eyes off them. Well, maybe not impossible. I’m sure my guy wasn’t the only one checking out those incredible costumes!
To create Nicole’s smoky eyes, first apply a sheer nude color over the entire lid. Then, from the lid to the crease, apply and blend a rich plum or dark brown eye shadow. Blending is the key to creating perfect smoky eyes. Keeping eyeliner as close to lashes as possible, line your entire eye in the same plum or brown shade as your shadow. Use a super thin brush to gently smudge liner up toward your crease and toward the eye’s outer edge. Finish with a double coat of black mascara.
Artistically applied permanent eye liner makes your eyes look sexy 24/7 and creates the perfect foundation for Nicole’s sultry smoky eyes.

Permanent makeup is a specialized form of cosmetic tattooing that injects natural pigment into the skin. Most often used to enhance beauty and correct facial flaws, permanent makeup is a boon to women who lead active lives and have little time for makeup application. Busy business women, women who are physically active, professional athletes, women who enjoy the outdoors, even on-the-go soccer moms enjoy the freedom permanent makeup gives them. No more wasted time in front of the mirror, with permanent cosmetics you always look as if your makeup was freshly applied.
Permanent makeup offers the perfect answer for allergy sufferers and contact lens wearers who have trouble tolerating makeup. Permanent eyeliner creates glamour eyes without problematic chemicals and makeup flakes. Women with poor eyesight or physical challenges that make cosmetic application difficult feel beautiful again with permanent makeup.
Beyond its ability to enhance beauty, permanent makeup plays an important role in restoring confidence and beauty through its paramedical applications. A skilled permanent makeup artist like Melany Whitney has the artistic ability to use permanent makeup techniques to correct facial flaws, creating beauty and symmetry that restore a patient’s self confidence. Narrow lips can be made full. Eyebrows lost to chemotherapy, age or disease can be artistically recreated. Unsightly scars can be camouflaged so they disappear from sight. When applied by the artistic hand of Melany Whitney, permanent makeup is the smart way to outsmart time and Mother Nature.

Catherine Deneuve
At Nordstrom’s celebrity-studded Cosmetic Trend Event in Honolulu next week, international makeup experts will announc the Return of Makeup. Say good-bye to the au naturel, no-makeup look; makeup is making a big comeback. The new look is still fresh-faced and luminous, but artistic makeup contouring and layering will be used to achieve ingenue radiance. Facial sculpting, the artistry of using makeup to create dramatic three-dimensional planes to enhance and reshape facial features, hasn’t been this popular since its heyday during the Dynasty days of the 1980s.
NARS Cosmetics national makeup stylist Janice Daoud will be launching Francois Nars’ new summer collection inspired by Catherine Deneuve’s sophisticated look in the 1967 film Belle du Jour. “3-D skin, juicy, fruity lips and cheek, and an indigo eye” are the hallmarks of the dramatic new look, Daoud told Hawaii’s Star Bulletin. Drama is created by layering shaded sculpting sticks to add dimension and highlights to the face, much as a painter layers paint to create a portrait.
It’s a technique well-known to nationally renowned permanent makeup artist Melany Whitney, who is also an accomplished artist. Facial contouring is a labor-intensive technique, requiring considerable cosmetics skill and a painter’s artistic knowledge of facial planes and shadows. However, when Melany combines her considerable artistry with her expertise in permanent makeup techniques to apply dramatic contours to your facial canvass, the only thing you need to add is a little moisturizer and a smile. With permanent makeup, you always look beautiful and alluring.

On a recent Today Show segment, co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotba embraced the natural look, appearing on the show sans makeup. Before revealing their faces to the cameras on “no makeup day,” the women took viewers for a backstage look at the intense daily makeup preparation that goes on before the cameras roll. Ann Curry said, “Sometimes I feel like on the show I wear enough makeup to frost a cake.” While the Today Show women agreed they felt “liberated” without makeup and often went “au naturel” at home, they professed to more than mild nervousness about appearing “naked” in front of their television fans. At 45, Honda said she felt self-conscious without makeup. Kathy Lee confessed, “… it’s the dumbest thing we’ve ever done. I had a classic anxiety dream about it…”
What we noticed in checking out the photos from Today’s ”no makeup day” is that without their makeup these high-powered, attractive women look washed out and older. It looked like a few of them fudged a little, too. Kathie Lee definitely looked like she was wearing mascara and eye liner. Natalie Morales may not have been in full face makeup, but her eyes were definitely made up. Check out the pics on The Huffington Post and see what you think.
Women who wear permanent makeup have the best of both worlds. They enjoy the personal freedom of not wearing makeup with the confidence that comes from knowing they look beautiful every minute of the day.

Permanent Eye Makeup
If you wear contact lenses, you know how painful it can be when a flake of mascara or a particle of eyeliner drops into your eye and becomes trapped behind your contact lens. Instantly, you’re tearing up and squinting in pain. Your eyes tear uncontrollably, a natural reaction to foreign matter that helps the eye cleanse itself. Unfortunately, all those tears start dissolving your eye makeup, making matters even worse and smearing contacts with a hazy film of makeup. It can be a struggle just to remove your contact lens so you can clear out the debris. All this from a nearly microscopic flake of makeup!
Makeup experts recommend putting on your eye makeup before you put in your contact lenses to help prevent such problems, although poor vision (the reason you wear contacts!) can make that tricky. To conceal the redness experienced by many contact lens wearers, try using a beige-colored eye pencil to line the inside rim of your eyes. Eyeliner can be applied directly over the beige pencil. Using liquid eyeliners and cream or gel eye shadows, which are less apt to flake during wear, instead of pencils and powders will also help prevent makeup from interfering with contact lenses.
Artistically applied permanent makeup is the only foolproof eye makeup solution for contact lens wearers. With permanent eyeliner and permanent eye shadow, you never have to worry about applying eye makeup and your eyes always look naturally gorgeous.

Looking cool and beautiful can be a trick when summer heat and humidity begin to climb, the sweat starts to trickle and your makeup threatens to slide down your face. These summer makeup tips will help you maintain your fabulous look even when the temperature soars:
- Stay hydrated. The human body is 60% water so carry a water bottle in your bag and sip away to keep skin plumped and moist.
- Moisturize at least twice a day with a moisturizer containing SPF 15 to 30 sunscreen to protect your face from the damaging ultra-violet rays.
- Summer makeup should be applied with a light touch. Go with a lightweight foundation and powder. Silicone formulas won’t melt when temperatures heat up.
- Use a lightweight oil-free primer under foundation to help base and blush last longer. You only need a pea-sized drop for your whole face and won’t even feel that extra layer.
- Instead of powder blushes, try a sheer cream, liquid or gel blush. Powders cake in the heat and humidity, but gels and creams soak into skin.
- Draw attention to eyes and lips with bright summer colors like peachy oranges and pale rosy pinks. Always use waterproof mascara.
- Want to look fabulous no matter how hot it gets? Switch to permanent makeup for a summer look that’s beautiful and carefree.

Beautiful Permanent Lip Color
Lip grafts are the newest thing in plastic surgery, touted as a longer-lasting lip plumping technique than Botox injections. Those who covet Angelina Jolie’s plump pout are having a muscle from their neck grafted onto their lips. The surgery is said to remove puckers and make lips look fuller, but it is certainly not for the squeamish.
Developed by Florida plastic surgeons, the lip graft surgically grafts segments of muscle and connective tissue from the side of the neck onto the lip. The procedure is not without its critics. Far from permanent, grafts only last two years. When not combined with a face lift, scarring at the hairline is likely. Some women have also experienced uncomfortable numbing or total loss of lip sensation; and sometimes the body rejects the graft, leaving the lips permanently scarred.
Rather than go under the knife, why not choose the safer option: permanent makeup. During the artistic application of permanent lip color, lips can be reshaped and made to appear tantalizingly fuller. Permanent makeup can also correct any irregularities in your lip line, giving you a pleasingly symmetrical lip line that looks beautifully natural. Permanent lip color is individually mixed to create the perfect lip color for your skin tone. Permanent lip color can be artfully blended to correct pigment imperfections and hide small scars. Permanent lip color even allows you to choose a natural look or create a signature lip color all your own.

A recent study gives new meaning to the phrase Femme Fatale. Apparently, looks can kill! At least if the look is from a beautiful woman and the target of her gaze is your typical male!
In a study conducted by University of Valencia researchers, men’s cortisol levels increased markedly when they were left alone with a beautiful woman. Cortisol is a stress hormone produced when an individual is under physical or psychological stress. High levels of cortisol have been linked to heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and impotency. Tests showed that the more beautiful the woman, the higher a man’s cortisol level rose.
The study involved 84 men. Two men and an attractive woman were placed in a room. One man left the room, leaving the other man alone with the woman. In each instance, the man’s cortisol levels rose. Researchers linked the stress hormone increase to the man’s perceived courtship opportunity. In other words, as he thought about hitting on the woman, his stress levels went up. Stress seemed to be directly proportional to the man’s confidence in his potential success. Women that a man considered to be out of his league produced the most stress.
Permanent makeup can help you keep your man on his toes. When you look gorgeous 24/7, imagine what you’re doing to his stress levels? Does this mean men will give up beautiful women to protect their health? Something tells me they’ll chance it!
