A 2011 study conducted by RealSelf Interest Index recently identified the top five cities in the US when it comes to interest in breast implant surgery popularity and the results may surprise you. While many may have guessed places like Miami, Florida and Hollywood, California, and even New York, New York hold would hold the top spots on, not one of those cities shows up in the top five of the 2011 list.
Instead, Salt Lake City, Utah came out on top when it came to internet searches for breast implant surgery with 74 % more searches than the national average. Salt Lake City, Utah was closely followed by sunny Fresno, California whose residents searched 63% more often than average for breast implant information. Other cities that landed on RealSelf’s breast implant interest list included Oklahoma City, Mobile, Louisiana, and Honolulu Hawaii.
Since the RealSelf study used internet search volume to measure only interest in breast surgery procedures, it does not in any way represent the volume of actual procedures performed. The truth is, however, that in our breast obsessed society, many women from Boca Raton, Florida and throughout the U.S. have breast implant surgery performed to improve their self esteem each year. Of those women, many will also need scar camouflage and nipple replacement as a follow-up to their surgery.

As Cara Santa Maria, Talk Nerdy to Me columnist from The Huffington Post recently reported, modern scientists may be closer than ever to finding the magical formula for physical beauty. Researchers at UCSD at the University of Toronto recently found that female faces were judged to be the most attractive when the distance between the eyes and the mouth was roughly 35% of the overall length of the face as well as when the eyes were around 46% the width of the face.
Scientists have thought mathematical proportions to be a significant predictor of physical attractiveness across cultures and even across species ever since the ground breaking classic mathematician Pythagoras identified what he called “the golden ratio.”
Aside from proportion, symmetry has long been known to be an important factor when it comes to physical beauty as well, along with other typical beautiful qualities like youthfulness, smooth skin, and bright eyes. Symmetry is always preferable over asymmetry, not only when it comes to the face, but also the body including the breasts and nipples.
Fortunately for those who may not have these qualities naturally, the beauty industry has come a long way since Pythagorean times. Procedures like nipple pigmentation, permanent eyebrow application, and permanent lip coloring, can now help men and women to improve the symmetry of their face and body.

Those of us who were born with naturally sparse eyebrows often when we hear our more ample browed friends complain about having to wax or tweeze frequently. If only we had that problem, we think to ourselves! It may often seem like it is so much easier to take away than it is to add on when it comes to eyebrow fullness, but the truth is, there are some great solutions out there for women who were born with sparse brows and if you’re one of those women, we’re here to tell you you’re certainly not alone.
Eyebrow thickness is quite often inherited. For many Asian women as well as Caucasian women, sparse and under-defined eyebrows often run in the family. Fortunately using the right tools can help all women with very thin eyebrows to get the look of gorgeous brows. One important thing to remember, however, is that while using tools like eyebrow powder, pencil, and eye shadow can be helpful, using them correctly takes both practice and skill. In addition, it does also take time and must be done daily.
Permanent makeup offers the perfect solution, if you’re just too busy or stressed out by having to try to apply your eyebrows daily, consult with the permanent eyebrow experts and the Asian eye experts at the Melany Whitney Center.

Although little talked about, eyebrow dying is now popular among many men and women as part of the quest for perfect eyebrows. Whether one is dying their eyebrows to cover up gray or just experimenting with a new hair color, there are several cautions they should mind before throwing on the plastic gloves, planting their eyes on the bathroom mirror, and giving it a try. If you want to dye your own eyebrows be sure to stay aware of the following tips.
- Protect your Eyes – Dye is composed of harsh chemicals that can irritate and cause damage to your eyes. Make sure you have a damp paper towel handy to catch and drops of dye before they get into your eyes.
- Choose the Right Color – Carefully select a color that matches the shade of hair on your head, otherwise, your results will end up looking very unnatural, and possibly, even shocking.
- Go Easy on the Dye and Apply Gently – When applying dye to your eyebrows, start with less and go for more as needed. Simply dab a Q-tip on your brows and continue dabbing until all the hairs are saturated but not dripping.
Remember, those if you’re considering dying your eyebrows for the first time, you may want to forego the DIY route all together and either opt for the help of a professional salon, or better yet, consider improving their eyebrows permanently with the help of an expert Boca Raton permanent makeup artist.

As the New York Times recently reported, non-specialists performing lucrative plastic surgery procedures they aren’t necessarily experts in is becoming an increasing trend. According to reporter Kate Murphy, more doctors, regardless of specialty, are expanding their practices to include cosmetic surgery procedures such as breast lifts, breast augmentations, liposuction, Botox and more.
United States law does not prevent doctors from practicing only within the specialty fields in which they were trained, but when doctors practice outside of their specialty areas, patient’s often end up disappointed and even injured. According to the New York Times report, one 59 year old female patient was left with thick scars on her temples and abdomen after having a facelift with a doctor who turned out to be board certified in otolaryngology, not plastic surgery.
There has been an increase in patients in need of scar revision and scar camouflage. The increased number of non-specialists providing plastic surgery may be contributing to this trend. Patients should not be afraid to ask a doctor who is advertising to be a board certified what specialty area he or she is actually certified in. The same tip applies for permanent makeup procedures. It is important to have your scar revision or nipple replacement procedures completed by a certified professional with years of experience.

Many Asian women as well as many other women are born with naturally sparse eyebrows. Since thicker well-arched eyebrows can help to frame and complete a face, women with sparse or Asian eyebrows often have to go to great lengths to make their eyebrows look thicker each day.
The first step to creating a thicker brow is combing to create a cleaner more fluid palette for outlining with pencil or filling in with brow powder. Next, sparse eyebrows should be outlined using an eyebrow pencil starting at the bottom of the brow line and working outwards to the outer tip of the eyebrows. After framing the bottom of the brow, the sparse areas of the middle and top of the brow must be filled in using more featherlike strokes and eventually finished with a careful dusting of eyebrow powder or brown eye shadow in just the right shade.
Setting eyebrows carefully using clear mascara or eyebrow gel is often the last daily step for those filling in sparse eyebrows. This step is optional but important especially for women who are going to a big event where they will need their brows to stay put for a while.
Fortunately there is another way for Asian women and other women with sparse brows to get beautiful, complete, eyebrows. Many women invest in permanent eyebrows as the time and money saving alternative to filling in their own brows and shaping their own brows daily.

Although statistics show that most patients end up very happy with the results of their breast implant surgery, as with any surgical procedure, there is quite a bit a patient needs to consider beforehand. When it comes to thinking about breast implant surgery, don’t ignore the following lesser known details.
- It’s possible that you will need to have follow-up or corrective surgery if your breast implants rupture, wrinkle, or change shape. Saline implants rupture at a rate of 1% per year.
- Implants can cause permanent changes in your breast tissue including wrinkles, dimples or other changes.
- The U.S. FDA recommends that women who have breast implants have an MRI three years after getting implant surgery and then every two years after that regardless of their age. This is done in order to check if the implant is intact and well as to check the condition of breast tissue.
- Even minimally invasive breast implant surgery can cause scarring and hypopigmentation of the nipples. Although surgical methods have come a long way and scars are often small, many women will still need nipple pigmentation and scar camouflage to complete a natural look.
- Breast implants will not prevent the natural changes in the breast that occur as a result of aging, changes in weight, or future pregnancies.
Talk to your doctor if you have questions about these facts and make sure that you’re completely comfortable before your procedure. This will help to ensure that you’re one of the many women satisfied with your breast implant results.

Are you thinking about having permanent eyebrows applied by a Boca Raton Florida permanent makeup artist, but unsure what you’ll have to do after your procedure? Read on to learn about some quick and easy after care tips.
Fortunately, the permanent eyebrow procedure is virtually pain free and downtime free procedure. Most clients who have the procedure go on to work and resume regular activities the very same day. That being said, those who have permanent eyebrows applied should remember to apply Vaseline to the cosmetically tattooed area to keep the area moist and healing as needed. Most clients will need to apply the Vaseline 4-6 times per day until their eyebrows have healed making sure to use a clean Q-tip or cotton swab since fingers can leave dirt and bacteria on sensitive skin.
Immediately after the procedure, clients should avoid getting any makeup or foreign substances on the freshly treated area on and around their eyebrows and should avoid strenuous exercise activity. They should also avoid letting hard shower mist hit the area directly for about one week as it could cause irritation. Those with new permanent eyebrows, especially in sunny areas like Florida should remember to steer clear of the sun, as well as swimming in chlorinated water as well as the ocean until their eyebrows have completely healed.
