How to Shape your Lips Perfectly with Makeup

Many women often overlook lips when it comes to their overall makeup routine, focusing solely on the eyes and cheeks. Lip liner, gloss, and lipstick however shouldn’t be skipped. The shape and color of lips has a significant amount of influence on your overall appearance – the look you’re projecting to the world.

Lips that are more vibrantly colored project youth and vitality whereas lips that are dull and chapped looking can project fatigue, aging, and even sickness. That’s why it’s important to make sure that you have a go-to lip makeup routine. If you go the every morning makeup application and reapplication route, you’ll need to use a shade of lip liner that matches your own lips closely as well as a lip gloss or lipstick in a beautiful shade every day. To avoid the hassle of applying lip makeup everyday and to look vibrant every day permanently, just choose the permanent lip color route.

Always remember that the shape of your lips is important too. The proper lip shape and size can really balance and a face and make it appear much more beautiful. Many women are born without a symmetrical pout and without large plump looking lips. Lining your lips will improve your lip shape. Using permanent cosmetics to get the perfectly shaped lips permanently is a great option. Permanent cosmetics are also the perfect solution for enlarging lips that have lost fullness due to aging.

New Software Helps Women “Pick the Perfect Makeup”

Do you spend hours in the mirror trying to perfect your makeup? New software soon to be released aims to help with that. The new beauty technology, which was recently showcased at CeBIT – the world’s biggest high-tech fair, takes a 3D image of your face and measures your complexion, shadows, and lines.

The software uses the scan to compare your face to 60 pre-programmed models and advise you of how much makeup should be applied to particular parts of your face based on the professional make-overs conducted on your model match. The software is also designed to tell women which tried-and-tested makeup combinations will be right for their faces.

The professional makeover software concept was developed by Kristina Scherbaum at the prestigious Max Planck Institute, while the user interface was designed by Himangsho Saikia. Although the software is still in its research stages, the pair hopes to release the software sometime in the near future for both personal and commercial use.

Permanent makeup or cosmetic tattooing is another tried and true way to get the perfect makeup every day – no facial scans or self application required! Professional permanent makeup artist Melany Whitney uses her professional eye and years of experience to apply eye and lip makeup in just the right shade and amount – an added advantage…you won’t ever have to apply it daily.

Get your Lips Ready for Fall 2011

What’s hot in lip makeup for Fall 2011? Colleen Egan of Allure Magazine recently reported on the 12 sexiest new Fall makeup trends. Defined lips are a big part of getting the season’s most updated look. Fall’s shorter and dimmer days make it the perfect season for brightening things up with bold lip color.

Wine red lips are hot for fall. Don’t be afraid of this fun trend. There is a shade of red that works well for everyone. Find your perfect shade, and you can pull it off and look great! Allure suggests that dark burgundy lips to make a deep impact. In order to get the look, keep the rest of makeup simple. This season, fashionistas will even be spicing up their lips with a touch of gloss. Just be careful not to over apply! A little dab will do over top of bold color!

Not feeling like you’ll be brave enough for bold lips this Fall? Another Fall 2011 makeup trend is one that is perfect for day time, the workplace and anytime. Allure reminds us that “basics don’t have to be boring.” Use a peach toned lipstick to get an understated neutral look that is still very Fall appropriate.

Tips for Younger Looking Lips

As we age our lips can become fair and lose color for several reasons.  Not only can lips become paler as a natural part of the aging process, but they can be the sign of other conditions such as dehydration, sun damage, or even anemia.  Visit your doctor if you are concerned about one of these conditions, otherwise try livening up your lips with these few simple tips.

Firstly, drink copious amounts of water as often as possible.  No matter what your age, you should be drinking  about eight glasses of water per day.  Many women fail to get the hydration they need throughout the day.  Water hydrates your body from the inside out, and getting enough of it can add some color back into your complexion as well as your lips.

Always use a lip balm with SPF.  Follow this tip for all seasons, not only in the summer.  Chap Stick Ultra (35 SPF Plus) or Banana Boat in stick form both work great.  Protecting your lips from sun damage will help keep lips looking youthful longer.

If you always protect your lips with sunscreen and drink your eight glasses of water daily but still suffer from pale lips, you may want to try permanent lip color.  The Melany Whitney Center for Permanent Cosmetics can give color back to pale lips and even redefine irregular lip lines and enhance lip shape!

Hey Bobbi Brown: Permanent Makeup Can Correct Thin Lips!

If you tuned in the Today show Monday morning, we’re sure you were as surprised as we were to hear Today beauty editor Bobbi Brown say that nothing can be done about thin lips. Obviously, Bobbi isn’t familiar with the transformative powers of permanent makeup! A specialized cosmetic tattooing technique, permanent makeup is regularly used to reshape, redefine and enhance the appearance of imperfect lips.

Through the artistic application of permanent makeup, an expert permanent cosmetics artist like Melany Whitney can make thin lips appear wider, fuller and more luscious. Unattractively full lips can be toned down. Embarrassing irregular lip lines can be subtly corrected and lips reshaped to give a completely-natural, more-pleasing appearance. Using permanent makeup, naturally pale lips or lips paled by age can be restored to healthy, youthful color. Additional benefits of permanently colored lips are the elimination of unsightly “bleeding” into the fine lines around the mouth and an end to embarrassing lipstick stains on glasses, napkins and the cheek of your embarrassed nephew. The proven success of permanent makeup to significantly improve lip appearance has made “permanent lips” a popular procedure with both women and men.

Luscious Lips Can Be Yours with Permanent Cosmetics

Permanently Beautiful Lips

Permanently Beautiful Lips

When you’re chatting with friends, look at their faces. Which features do you notice most? The eyes, certainly, draw you into a person’s face; but it is the shape and color of the lips that make a person look vibrantly alive or tired and worn out. Few people have perfectly shaped, movie star lips; but plenty of us have lips that are too grimly thin or clownishly large or deathly pale. Unattractive lips can dominate a face instead of enhancing it, detracting from our unique personal beauty and unfavorably coloring the first impressions of people we meet on the job or during social events.

Ordinary makeup can help correct imperfect lips, but it must be expertly applied and there is the constant fear that it will smear or be washed away by sweat in an over-warm office or at the gym. Your corrected lips could even disappear completely with an incautious wipe of your napkin while eating. How embarrassing! Your appearance could totally change right before your date’s eyes! The solution is permanent makeup.

Permanent makeup can hide imperfections in your lips, give your lips a more attractive shape and a rosier, healthier natural color. This is makeup that can’t be sweat away, wiped away or washed away. Permanent makeup-enhanced lips are as permanent as the lips you were born with, only more attractive.

Permanent Lip Color Is the Ultimate Long-Lasting Lip Stain

Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore

Have you seen the new commercials for Cover Girl Outlast Lipstain starring the always darling, inimitable Drew Barrymore? Highlighting Drew’s sunny smile, Cover Girl’s latest lip cover looks fresh and carefree, the perfect choice for easy, breezy summer wear. Light and pretty, the new lip stains introduced by Cover Girl, Revlon, Sephora, Candy and others brush your lips with light-weight color that lasts all day. An interesting new lip color product, lip stains feel less heavy on the lip and less “cakey” than traditional lipsticks, yet they provide a more penetrating lip cover than sheer lip glosses. Actually, what they seem to mimic most is permanent lip color.

Women who wear permanent lip color never have to worry about their lipstick being fresh, leaving those unsightly lipstick rings on glasses or smudging some hunky guy’s shirt collar with telltale lipstick smears. Artistically applied permanent cosmetics are used to saturate lips with permanent color that won’t wear off! Permanent lip color is the ultimate long-lasting lip stain, making your lips look fresh and kissably lush 24 hours a day.

Permanent lip color can be applied with or without lip liner. You can choose a shade that enhances your natural lip color or bring in your signature lipstick shade for matching. When applying permanent makeup to lips, nationally known permanent makeup artist Melany Whitney can repair lip line flaws, add fullness to thin lips and add symmetry to problem lips. Permanent makeup gives you lips that are always beautiful.

Permanent Lip Color Reshapes Lips without Lip Graft Dangers

Lip grafts are the newest thing in plastic surgery, touted as a longer-lasting lip plumping technique than Botox injections. Those who covet Angelina Jolie’s plump pout are having a muscle from their neck grafted onto their lips. The surgery is said to remove puckers and make lips look fuller, but it is certainly not for the squeamish.

Developed by Florida plastic surgeons, the lip graft surgically grafts segments of muscle and connective tissue from the side of the neck onto the lip. The procedure is not without its critics. Far from permanent, grafts only last two years. When not combined with a face lift, scarring at the hairline is likely. Some women have also experienced uncomfortable numbing or total loss of lip sensation; and sometimes the body rejects the graft, leaving the lips permanently scarred.

Rather than go under the knife, why not choose the safer option: permanent makeup. During the artistic application of permanent lip color, lips can be reshaped and made to appear tantalizingly fuller. Permanent makeup can also correct any irregularities in your lip line, giving you a pleasingly symmetrical lip line that looks beautifully natural. Permanent lip color is individually mixed to create the perfect lip color for your skin tone. Permanent lip color can be artfully blended to correct pigment imperfections and hide small scars. Permanent lip color even allows you to choose a natural look or create a signature lip color all your own.

In an ode to the timeless beauty that is the legacy and legend of Coco Chanel, Chanel has just introduced its new Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick, a soft, smooth modern take on your mother’s classic creme lip color. The charming gap-toothed French singer, model and actress, 38, has been a European star since her early teens. An exquisite beauty with a voice to match, Vanessa’s admiration of another classic beauty, Marilyn Monroe, sparked her early interest in performing. It is Vanessa’s voice you hear singing What a day for a daydream in commercials for the new lipstick. (Click here to watch the YouTube video of the commercial being made. Turn up the volume to hear Vanessa sing.)

Permanent Cosmetics Creates Fuller Lips Without Surgery

Have you heard about the latest lip plumping cosmetic surgery procedure? It’s called a lip implant and involves grafting a snip of your neck muscle onto your lips. It’s said to improve lip color as well as form. Pioneered in India, the procedure is fairly new and largely unstudied. Possible side effects include loss of feeling in the lips, head movement limitations, neck pain, nerve injury and lip deformities. All that risk and U.S. researchers say the procedure only provides beneficial results for 2 years. After that, lip color fades again.

How much smarter (and more cost effective) to use permanent makeup to make your lips permanently full and rosy. In permanent cosmetics, a paramedical tattooing process is used to insert natural pigments under the skin to add permanent, long-lasting color to pale lips. An expert permanent makeup artist like Melany Whitney can make lips appear fuller and even correct uneven or irregular lip lines and minor scars. Permanent lip clients can choose to go natural and have their lips colored a slightly darker shade than their skin tone or call more attention to their lips by having Melany match their favorite lip stain color to create a signature look.
