Permanent cosmetics are at the top of everyone’s list of favorite ways to spend this year’s tax refund. But if you want to treat yourself, you won’t find practitioners of the hottest new trend in cosmetic tattooing in traditional tattoo parlors working in rooms covered with drawings of dragons and super heroes. These tattoo artists don’t divide their time between eyebrow enhancements and tributes to “mom.” Permanent cosmetics experts are an elite group who limit their expertise to enhancing the beauty of the human face and body. They practice their art in upscale office suites where clients enjoy soothing, relaxing cosmetic treatments in a sterile, medical-quality environment.
Also known as permanent makeup, permanent cosmetics are, at their most elementary level, tattooed makeup. But there is nothing elementary about it. While superior technical expertise is most definitely required to redraw eyebrows and reshape and color lips, it is their brilliant artistry that sets permanent makeup artists apart from their Miami and NY Ink peers. It takes the practiced eye of a natural artist to create the minute details, perfect color blending and attractive facial balance that epitomizes high-quality permanent makeup and makes permanent cosmetics look completely natural.

Gone are the days in which women can only tone up a bit, get a fresh haircut, and buy new makeup before their wedding day in order to look their best. Now women have many more options to help them look amazing on their big day.
Breast lifts, liposuction, and other forms of breast and plastic surgery are becoming regular parts of pre-wedding day routines for many women as Good Morning America recently reported. Now, scar camouflage and nipple areola replacement even provide options that can help a bride to be sure the evidence of her procedures won’t become the focus on her special day.
Chances are you may have caught an episode or two of the new series Bridalplasty which brings the new pre-wedding plastic surgery trend to light. On Bridalplasty brides compete in a series of challenges to win the procedures they would like to undergo before their wedding day. It’s no surprise brides are willing to compete as plastic surgery procedures certainly do not come inexpensively. Plastic Surgeon Dr. Tenley told Good Morning America she treats as many as five brides-to-be each month and that several of them spend up to $15,000 on procedures.
Although the pre-wedding plastic surgery trend may disturb some, others feel that brides have a right to improve their own self esteem, comfort, and enjoyment of life as well as their enjoyment of their own wedding ceremony.

Industry insiders are calling the latest trend in plastic surgery the “chinplant,” more properly known as the chin implant. Some surprising statistics have recently shown that chin implants are the hottest thing in the world of beauty right now and, some say, becoming even more popular than breast implants.
According to a recent Forbes report, surgical procedures that enhance the chin increased 71 percent between 2010 and 2011. This means that chin implants outpaced breast augmentations, liposuction, and botox combined when it comes to growth, and the increase equally represents both sexes. Both men and women are turning to chin implants to enhance their look and to decrease the look of an undefined or “weak” chin. People over 40, who represent the majority of chin implant recipients often report that they get the implants in an effort to eliminate the look of sagging undefined skin on the chin.
To insert a chin implant, a sugeon cuts a small incision below the chin to place the rubber like implant. There may be some scarring around the area under the chin towards the top of the neck after the surgery, particularly hypopigmented scarring. This can can be camouflaged by a Boca Raton paramedical tattooing professional or scar camouflage expert like Melany Whitney.

The FDA has recently approved a new type of breast implant known as the Sientra breast implant. Although these types of breast implants have been available to women outside of the United States for several years, the FDA actually took decades to approve them according to a Huffington post report.
The availability of the Sientra breast implant comes after two decades of rigorous testing and political debate. Although the FDA has demonstrated the safety and efficacy of the new implant type, similar implants made by brands Allergen and Mentor have not yet been approved. Frivolous breast implant litigation throughout the 1990s may be partially responsible of widespread delays of safe medical devices and new breast implant types.
According to some, the new approval is definitely a reason for US women to rejoice, especially those needing breast reconstruction after a mastectomy. Both women wanting and needing breast augmentation will now have more choices.
Sientra highly cohesive breast implants are usually placed through the inframammary (under the breast), through the armpit, or through the periareolar. While the scar usually ends up fairly well hidden, it may be obvious in some patients and is usually fairly long. Those who opt for the “new” breast implant type may need the help of a paramedical tattooing professional who is skilled in scar camouflage after their implant surgery.

We know beautiful carefully shaped eyebrows are important when it comes to framing a face and completing any appropriately well-groomed look, but is a “beautiful well-groomed” brow defined by the season or the trend du jour?
Trendy eyebrow looks have come and gone throughout the decades. From the uniformly “surprised” unnaturally arched look of the 1920’s to the almost too au natural bushy and under defined look that was popular in the 1980’s, the definition of “stylish” eyebrows has certainly varied at times. Some style experts even change their definition of gorgeous eyebrows from season to season, often preferring thicker in the winter and thinner in the summer months.
The truth is, however, that a perfect well groomed, natural looking arch simply never goes out of style. Brows that are not too thin or sparse, yet not too thick or under-groomed either are always a complimentary look.
If you’re a man or women with sparse or hard to manage brows, having permanent brows applied at the Melany Whitney Center will provide you with a permanent look that will always be beautiful and in style. The experts at the Melany Whitney Center use a single stroke technique that creates the look of natural hair and create the perfect arch you should have been born with.

The term gynecomastia refers to the development of female-like beasts in men. While this condition does develop naturally in some men, it is also a common side effect of anabolic steroid use. Although men naturally produce a small amount of estrogen, when anabolic steroids are used estrogen levels can begin to rise or dominate, causing the onset of female characteristics like enlarged amounts of breast tissue.
Steroid use is not always found to cause gynecomastia in men, but may appear during any cycle of use. In general, higher dosages and longer cycles of anabolic steroid use are thought the increase the changes of gynecomastia in males.
Although gynecomastia is not life threatening, it can become very obvious and embarrassing. Men who suffer from the condition frequently report a loss of self-esteem. While the condition can be reduced for some through the use of anti-estrogen medication, some men will need to undergo breast reduction surgery and may benefit from nipple areola restoration and scar camouflage post operatively.
Gynecomastia is just one of the many potential downsides of using anabolic steroids. In many cases, use of such drugs is illegal and dangerous. Men should always talk to their doctor before considering steroid use or if they have concerns about gynecomastia.

According to a new report by the US Food and Drug Administration, about 20 percent of women who have silicone breast implants for breast augmentation will have problems bad enough to warrant the removal of the implant. In addition one-half of breast cancer patients who have silicone breast implants implanted for reconstruction will need them removed and replaced at some point according to the report. Problems usually occur for patients within a decade of implantation.
The FDA wants women to understand the risks and complications that come with breast implant surgery before going under the knife. Women should be fully aware that breast implants can rupture, and be subject to asymmetry, wrinkling, scarring, and even pain. These issues as well as capsular contracture could cause patients to need additional surgery.
Women who are only left with scarring and no other issues a decade after their surgeries may just be very lucky. Thanks to the miracles of paramedical tattooing, hypopigmented scars can be blended in with regular skin and be made much less detectable. Missing or hypopigmented nipple areolas can be restored through the use of permanent cosmetics as well. Other breast post surgery breast implant issues may very well require more plastic surgery.

Actress Tara Reid, who can be seen in the upcoming American Pie Reunion, recently told the New York Post that she doesn’t want to be the “poster child” for bad plastic surgery. Reid admits to having nips and tucks including liposuction and breast implants.
Due to severe scarring and other issues, the actress has been forced to undergo multiple repeat surgeries to correct the damage that unfortunately became very apparent to onlookers. When media outlets caught wind of Reid’s tragic breast surgery mishaps, her story became extremely well known.

Breasts represent beauty, nurturing, femininity, and are so important when it comes to making a woman feel confident and whole. It’s no wonder that most women want their breasts to be something they can feel proud of. Many strong and intelligent women opt to have breast surgery procedures to correct or enhance the look of their breasts in order to add some well-deserved enrichment to their life and to that of their partners.
Common breast surgeries include breast augmentation (implants), breast lifts (mastopexy), breast asymmetry correction surgeries, and breast reduction or macromastia surgeries. Each of these procedures can greatly improve a woman’s bust line as well as her confidence level if she is a qualified candidate. While these surgeries can all offer amazing results, it is important to be prepared for the possible downside that they all have in common: the potential to produce hypopigmented scarring. Fortunately, permanent cosmetics can always come to the rescue when it comes to camouflaging the hypopigmented scars that can occur around breast surgery incision sites.
The experts at the Melany Whitney Center for Permanent Cosmetics located conveniently from all points in New York and New Jersey are nationally recognized for their skills in the area of micropigmentation and paramedical cosmetic tattooing. Don’t plan your breast surgery procedure without having Melany Whitney “on speed dial!”

Gynecomastia is the enlargement of the male breast. Many men suffer in silence with male gynecomastia while a large portion of the public is not even familiar with the term. While the condition is benign, the psychological toll it can take on male patients is significant. Enlarged breast in a male can cause physical discomfort, difficulty in finding clothing, and lack of self confidence in one’s own masculinity.
The condition is caused by a proliferation of the glandular component of the breast and is defined clinically by the presence of a rubbery or firm mass extending concentrically from the nipples according to Medscape online. A related condition called pseudogynecomastia, which can have the similar effects on male self esteem and confidence, instead, characterized by fat deposition without glandular proliferation. Gynecomastia can affect just one breast (unilateral) or both breasts (bilateral).
Fortunately, gynecomastia sufferers can be helped through medication therapies, breast surgery, and paramedical permanent tattooing. Reduction mammoplasty can reduce breast size in patients with persistent gynecomastia, while breast surgery scars can be minimized with permanent cosmetic scar camouflage. If you’re considering gynecomastia surgery in the New York area, contact the experts at the Melany Whitney Center to discuss your options for post surgical finishing touches.
