Paint Your Lips Red Tomorrow to Support Women’s Heart Health

Tomorrow scour your wardrobe for bright red clothing and put on your brightest red lipstick. It’s time to Go Red to support women’s heart health. February 5 is National Wear Red Day when millions of women and the men who love them don red to call attention to heart disease, the No. 1 killer of women in the U.S. The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign encourages women to learn more about heart health and how to prevent heart disease. You’ll want to keep that tube of red lipstick handy after tomorrow. Bright electric reds, oranges and pinks are this spring’s hot new lip colors. You can apply them right over your permanent lip color. Much like popular new lip stains but with less fuss, permanent makeup subtly colors lips in the perfect shade for your skin tone and personal preference. Permanent lips are beautiful naked or with a touch of lip gloss when you’re on the go and provide the perfect base when you feel like a change and want to command attention with one of this spring’s bright corals or hot reds.

Permanent Cosmetics Restore Sense of Femininity When Motor Skills Are Lost

Have you ever heard a woman say, “I feel naked until I put my face on”? For many women putting on their makeup is more than part of their morning routine, it’s a symbol of their femininity. Like doing their hair and dabbing on their favorite scent, applying eye makeup and lipstick makes women feel more beautiful, self-confident and ready to meet whatever the day has in store. Even women who favor the natural look and choose to skip foundation prefer the way they look with a dash of eyeliner, a swipe of mascara and a touch of lipstick. Makeup enhances our natural beauty and makes us feel good about ourselves.

A stroke, arthritis, muscular dystrophy, long illness, accident or other degenerative condition or disease strikes at the very core of who a person is as an individual and a woman. The inability to apply makeup when motor skills are lost and hands shake can be a tragic blow to a woman’s sense of femininity and sense of self. Without makeup she no longer sees in the mirror the woman she once was. It makes her loss cut even deeper. Permanent cosmetics can restore a woman’s sense of personal beauty and her self confidence in her appearance.

Artfully applied cosmetic tattooing can create beauty-enhancing permanent eyeliner, permanent eyebrows, permanent lips or even a full face enhancement. With permanent makeup, a woman who is no longer able to apply her own cosmetics can still look like she’s just applied fresh makeup.

Spring Makeup Goes to the Matte

Good news for women of all skin types and skin tones, makeup is going matte! No-shine matte makeup is replacing sheen and gleam for a fresh, natural look this spring. Glimmery makeup was fun during the holidays, but shine emphasizes every tiny facial imperfection. The new matte look minimizes little flaws, allowing them to fade from sight. Matte doesn’t mean dull and flat, though. The new matte look is sheer and satiny, very pretty and natural. Always use moisturizer to prevent a caky look.

The almost air-brushed appearance of matte skin tones lets you focus attention on eyes and lips. Watch for eye shadows in soft earth tones and barely there evening sky colors mixed with pale skin-tone pinks, browns and beiges. Minimal black-brown eyeliner highlights the new downplayed look. And those spiky black stiletto lashes that were such fun during the holidays? Gone; replaced by a soft, natural look. Lashes go au naturel or with just a swipe of soft black-brown mascara. This spring, lips provide the wow! Go retro with bright red, innocent with pale pink or vamp it up with purple.

If you have permanent makeup, you already have the perfect base for spring’s new natural look. Permanent cosmetics treat you to a salon makeup finish all day long. To change it up, apply cosmetics directly over permanent makeup. Otherwise, just moisturize and you’re out the door!

New Year’s Eve Makeup Is Bold, Bright and Sparkly

The natural look may be in for every day wear, but New Year’s Eve calls for glitz and glam! Vibrant, bold lip colors in glossy, wet shines say you’re ready to party. New potted lipstains are fun, wear beautifully and are available in flashy, bright colors. Or choose a long-lasting lipstick in one of this season’s bold new reds topped with a slick, glossy shine. Remember to carry a refresher to touch up your lips right before that special midnight kiss!

Shimmer is in for New Year’s Eve. Glam up your eyes with a line of shimmery eyeliner and a couple extra swipes of mascara. For ultra bold eyes, layer two thick lines of shimmering eyeliner above lashes, overlapping just slightly. Depending on your mood, use complementary or contrasting colors or pick up a colors from your dress.

If you like glitter, this is your night to shine! A dusting of glittery blush across cheeks and decolletage adds sparkle. Roll on glitter for hair is fun, just don’t overdo it. A little glitter is alluring; too much makes you look like a Christmas ornament.

Naturally, if you wear permanent makeup, you’ve already cut your prep time. Just moisturize and add a little pizzazz. Your already perfect permanent makeup — eyeliner, lipliner, lip color, etc. — serves as a fabulous foundation for adding a little glitter to cheeks, glimmer to eyelids and shiny color to lips. Just apply New Year’s Eve makeup right over your permanent makeup.

Sex, Smoke, Shimmer Spark Up Holiday Makeup

With the last chocolate bar a fading memory, it’s time to put away the Halloween grease paint and start thinking about your holiday look. Thanksgiving marks the start of holiday festivities. Dress up cocktail parties, family gatherings, office bashes, potlucks with friends, dancing ’til dawn, shopping junkets with the girls – a girl’s got to look good! So what’s hot for the holidays? Sex, smoke and shimmer!

Soft, smoky eyes get the holiday touch with a little shimmery shadow on the lid. Carefully apply then smudge a thin line of deep brown or gray eyeliner to top and bottom lashes. Stay away from black; you don’t want sepulcher eyes (Halloween is over). Add mascara, a swipe of shimmery blush to your cheeks and finish with a light lipstick or gloss. Stay away from dark lips to keep the focus on your eyes. Permanent eyeliner adds depth to your eyes. Smudge a little eyeliner on top to smoke up your eyes.

Go sexy this holiday with deep red lips. Line lips first, then use a lipstick brush to fill with your favorite show-stopping red color. Shimmer a sparkling blush along your cheek bones. For this look, keep the focus on your sexy lips by pairing with a light matte eye shadow that’s close to your skin tone and a swipe of mascara. Permanent makeup creates a perfect lip line for the sexiest lips this holiday. Create permanent lips in your favorite lipstick color or apply new shades over the ideal background for your skin tone.

Date Rape Lip Gloss Protects More Than Your Lips

It’s not a silly little love song on You Tube, it’s the latest in date rape protection. A sexy new lip gloss from the UK, 2Love My Lips comes in a bewitching range of tantalizing colors from Sophisticated Coffee and Passionate Pink to Posh Gloss. The colors are fun and fabulous, but what makes this new lip gloss unique is its promise to help you stay in control on a date.

A tube of 2Love My Lips lip gloss doesn’t pack a too obvious shot of pepper spray, it really does contain fabulous, lip-plumping, breath-freshening lip gloss. But it also cleverly conceals a sneakily packaged drink spike detector testing kit worthy of some cool secret gadget from Daniel Craig’s next James Bond movie. When you’re clubbing or doing the bar scene with your crew, don’t take a chance on date rape. Use the test strips included in each 2Love My Lips lip gloss tube to unobtrusively test your drink right at the bar or when you return to your table after dancing. It’s one more smart way to stay in control and keep yourself safe.

You can wear 2Love My Lips lip gloss right on top of your permanent lip color. In fact, you can wear any lipstick or lip gloss on top of permanent lip color when you want a change. But you’ll always know that underneath your lips are always perfectly lined and beautifully colored. No worries when lipstick wears off or you want to go au natural.

Red Stars on Emmy Awards Runway

Don’t you just love award shows? I don’t care that much about who wins, but I love the dresses, the jewels, the hair, the makeup — the glam! Red was the star of Sunday night’s 61st Emmy Awards, and I’m not talking about the red carpet. Sure there were plenty of metallic bronzes and silvers and, of course, the traditional black, but it was the bright reds that took center stage.

Debra Messing’s gorgeous, bright red, beaded, one-shoulder Michael Kors gown gave her the look of a modern Greek goddess. Loved her beautiful sculptured-leaf dangle earrings. Hayden Panettiere was absolutely stunning in a regal, rich scarlet, one-shouldered gown with a softly draped skirt. With matching red lipstick and an upswept do, Hayden looked like a queen. For old-fashioned glamour, I loved Drew Barrymore’s vintage spun-sugar blush gown. Set off with a perfect candy-apple red mouth, Drew looked good enough to eat!

I’m always turn a critical eye to the stars’ makeup, and this year my eye was drawn to sexy red lips. Maybe it’s the Mad Men 1960s influence, but red was definitely the lip hue favored by Hollywood’s brightest stars. There’s nothing more sensual than full, bright red lips. With permanent makeup, you can create your own signature red lips, sexy 24 hours a day. Or choose permanent lips in the perfect neutral pink for your skin tone. This season’s hottest lip colors can be easily applied right over permanent lips, the permanent color adding rich depth.

How to Get Kissable Lips, Not Ugly Trout Pout

Since Angelina Jolie stormed onto the silver screen as the Laura Croft in black leather and blue steel, plumped lips have been the rage in Hollywood. Sure, we know Brad Pitt’s main squeeze has well-developed acting chomps, but it was the adventurous Laura Croft in Tomb Raider that shot Jolie’s star — and her pouty lips — soaring into the celebrity stratosphere. Angie’s sexy pucker may be the real deal; but when stars turn to Botox to copy her signature poufy pucker, they often wind up with an ugly trout pout. Click the links to check out these “what was she thinking?” pics of pop wreck Lindsay Lohan’s fugly pout and Boston Legal’s Saffron Burrows’ bee sting pucker.

We understand the desire to look young and beautiful, but a Botox-injected pouf pout is not the answer. No one wants fish lips — or wants to kiss them. By cleverly accenting or correcting your natural lip line, permanent makeup can give you the gorgeous, full, youthful lips you desire — without the risk of hideous trout pout. Permanent lips artistically created by permanent cosmetics expert Melany Whitney augment your natural beauty. Thin lips can be made fuller. Too much fullness can be de-emphasized. Irregular lip lines can be perfectly defined. Permanent makeup lip enhancements include permanent lip liner and full lip color. With permanent lips, you know your lips are sexy, gorgeous — and kissable — 24 hours a day.

Play Up Your Classic Beauty With Permanent Makeup

Let’s face it. Face, hair or figure, certain female physical traits have been considered as classic beauty by our culture for centuries.  Tastes change and politics change. But some things remain the same.

Take hair. We’ve had feminists, mullets and mohawks. Yet most people – male and female – still consider long flowing tresses to be a key part of feminine allure.  Venus on that half shell and Mona Lisa both have long locks just like Brigitte Bardot and Beyonce.

Scientists who have studied trait preferences will tell you it’s because long hair symbolizes youth and vitality. Males are programmed to be attracted to ladies with long hair, large eyes, rosy lips and symmetrical figures.

Scientists will further tell you that all of this is because the attracting traits that signify a young female indicate fertility. It’s those genes talking. But the funny thing is even if a guy doesn’t want any heirs, he’s still attracted to long hair and all the rest.

So why not just follow the rules of attraction?  To turn heads, simply let your hair down and augment your lips, eyes and eyebrows with permanent makeup.

Today’s magnificent lip colors will make your lips look beautiful, soft and natural, just as if you were born that way. No need for that painted lipstick look although you can always put lipstick on over permanent color when you want extra drama. Add some permanent eyeliner and brows, and you’re putting you’re best face forward.  Fluff your hair to its fullest potential. And voila, you’re a classic beauty.

How to Get That Summer Glow

We all know that tanning is a no-no. Today’s tan is tomorrow’s wrinkled skin, not to mention skin cancer. But we all still want that bronze-y summer glow. Here’s how the celebrities do it. And you just know that they’re adding permanent make-up for that extra oomph.

Coppery Lips

A glimmering bronze lip looks young and fresh, but still elegant. Paired with tousled hair like Kate Hudson’s, it’s unfussy and perfectly thrown together.

Golden Cheeks

Strategically placed bronzer enhances Eva Longoria Parker’s delicate cheekbones while focusing light on her almond-shaped eyes. “When used like blush, bronzer adds structure,” says celebrity makeup artist Rachel Goodwin. “Neutral shades on eyes and mouth create a modern, monochromatic finish.”

Bronze Lids

Leighton Meester’s deep brown eyes and peaches-and-cream complexion get an instant boost from shimmering 24kt lids. Rose-gold tones are warm and sensual. It’s a shade that brings out highlights and complements this season’s stylish summer dresses.

Faux Tan

The ultimate bronzed bombshell, Jennifer Lopez has perfected an all-over glow. To get the look, apply color in one sweeping motion over brow bones, cheeks, and jawline. It leaves a soft, refined, halo-like finish.

Radiant Decolletage

Celebrity make-up artists agree. Jessica Biel nails this flawless look. How to do it? Maintain uniform color above and below the neck, then add dimension by highlighting the collarbone with a hint of shimmer.

Gleaming Limbs

Whether or not your arms and legs are as long and fit as Charlize Theron’s, there’s no arguing that they’ll look even more toned when sun-kissed. One shade deeper than your natural skin tone is perfect for a night out without overdoing it.
